I just want to get to 200. I’m 235. Any suggestions?
I have yo-yo dieted, fad dieted most of my adult life. I finally listened and researched on my own what my daughter has been preaching to me for years. Chemicals in our daily lives and all the crap that is added to our foods is awful. We started eliminating chemicals slowly, I started using a blend of essential oils and starting buying more organic foods and reading labels.
The change you make is something you will do for the rest of your life. Cut out the processed food. Weigh your food to make sure you are eating a potion size. Do both cardio and weight training,
I started at 234.4 on June 1st, and am currently at 212. I’ve stopped worrying so much and started to simply trust the process-Less bad food/more healthier food & More movement-30 minutes a day on the elliptical 3-5x a wk, and YouTube strength training videos (I like FitnessBlender) once in a while.
1500-1750 calories
I have been eating about 1500-1750 calories a day within 3 meals & 3 snacks. I cut way down on bad/sugary carbs, but still eat the good.
My biggest help is having an accountability partner. She randomly texts me wanting a pic of my lunch or to know what my meals where for the day and I report my weight to her each Monday
(which helps a ton! I know I won’t throw away the weeks progress over the wknd like i used to do). Also helps to have a positive attitude. I have a Pinterest board for fitness quotes and affirmations. I changed from ‘I can’t lose’ to believing I can, I just need to be patient and persistent.
My next goal is to be at 195 for a wedding I’m in in late December.
Ultimately, I want to reach 150’s-160’s.
I do 4 or 5 protein shakes a day and one meal of 4 oz of lean protein and half cup of non starchy veg. It's hard but it works. Basically 100 grams of protein under 50 grams of carbs and about 1000 calories.
Cellular cleansing has works the best for me! 2 dairy free gluten free shakes a day plus snacks and a regular dinner of your choice. In the first 30 days I lost 15 pounds of inflammation. I’m now maintenance and still do the shakes along with a bedtime belly buster every night but couldn’t imagine life without my routine.
Things with corn syrup in I avoid or are a minimal in our home. I have not really changed too much cause I still eat junk foods but not as much and I’m losing weight! I dropped 10 pounds in a month and that’s huge for me. Cause I have a huge sweet tooth and I’m always putting weight back on.
The key words are tried different diet. Loosing involves making that necessary lifestyle change and maintain it after weight loss. Too often we do these quick diets and lose the weight and then gain it back. Bottom line is whatever you did to lose the weight has to be sustainable for the rest of your life.
Whatever method you choose to use, you need to be in a calorie deficit, that is the principle underpinning fat loss. A good starting point in assessing your calorie maintenance would be multiply your bodyweight in lbs by 14-16, reduce your calorie intake slightly from there and see if you start losing weight. You can choose any method you like, as long as you are in a calorie deficit. Hope this helps, feel free to message me if you want to know anything else 😊
I have been in the same situation for many years, weight struggles for 5 years prior to last year (60 pounds overweight), but other symptoms since childhood including depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue & exhaustion, was anemic (even taking iron supplements for many years was not helping), I also used to faint with no explanation, brain fog, just so many other things. I was also prediabetic before I decided to do my own research because doctors were not pinpointing.
I decided to do my own research and find out what was going on; what I found was astounding, that even my own doctors had not been trained in; had everything to do with the digestive system (chronic illnesses, depression, brain fog, all the symptoms I was dealing with, with no relief all my life). See, 90% of our serotonin levels (happy hormone)
produced in the gut; 70-80% of our immune system is located in the gut, basically everything we are dealing with is directly correlated to the GI tract, and once we compromise it, we start developing symptoms and start having struggles that are difficult to overcome. Once you start taking care of the gut, that's when you notice that the body starts to function as it was meant to, and symptoms start to dissipate slowly but surely. Why? Because we are getting to the root, our digestive system. No temporary fixes. I've also had many friends with different types of autoimmune illnesses, RA, Lupus, thyroid issues, u name it, finding relief with consistently taking care of gut.
Like I mentioned, our traditional docs r not trained in this, so even the tests they give r not finding things unless it's some type of stool tests which find out the types of bacteria (both beneficial and non-beneficial) that r in our system; functional docs r and they have been using these types of practices with their patients, helping them feel better from the inside out.
The medications we are being given are actually part of the problem, causing symptoms and compromising our gut bacteria. I've learned so much in the past year that I continue to share and spread awareness, because unless you know about this, u will not know what are the things causing your struggles. Down 60 pounds that I was struggling with, & all my symptoms r gone. I would probably be on anti-depressants & diabetic right now had I not stumbled on this information and done my own research.
Create a calorie deficit. Find out your maintenance weight by using a free app like MyNetDiary or MyFitnessPall and keep in mind that 1lbs is equal to 3500calories so if you remove 500calories from your daily calorie intake, you will automatically lose about 1lbs per week even if you dont exercise at all(you should if you can,
it will make you lose more than just one pound per week) Exemple: Lets say that your maintenance weight is 2000calories so you manage to eat 1500 calories per day and that is 1lbs off. I lost 50lbs since novermber just by creating a calorie deficit and exercise made me loose faster and not have flappy saggy skin. Just beleive in what you cant see yet.
